Welcome to the all new Honda 919 / Hornet CB900F Motorcycle information website! Here I will try to give you a good overview of the Honda 919 and the Honda Hornet motorcycles and some of their history. Honda 919 Mod - 17 tooth AFAM Sprocket Swap

Swapping your 16 tooth sprocket for a 17 tooth on the Honda 919 is a simple and extremely cheap mod that will make a big difference in your Honda 919 performance.

If you need to purchase an AFAM sprocket they can be found on ebay in this seller’s store (Speed Supplies).

Some of the advantages of having a 17 tooth sprocket over a 16 inch sprocket are:

• Lower RPM’s at high speeds (causing less engine noise when driving fast or for long periods of time)
  
• Shorter wheelbase allowing for slightly better steering response.
• Reduces slack in the chain.
  
• Helps make the speedometor read more accurately.

Some of this disadvantages of having a 17 tooth sprocket versus a 16 inch sprocket are:

• Slightly poorer accelleration.

This Mod is recommending for anyone who tends to do more highway driving or driving for long periods of time. Not as recommended for stop & go traffic drivers.

This mod can be done without removing the back wheel.

To perform this mod on the Honda 919, just loosen the axle nut and move the chain adjusters as far forward as you can .
